Security Industry Associations

As a Security Professional in business for yourself, industry related associations
can play an important role in the development of your business.

Many associations are active in determining how the Licensing Laws
are written and modified in each state or jurisdiction.

Joining a Professional Association allows the professional to network
with other professionals where ideas and sources of
information can be and are routinely exchanged.

There are many separate areas of expertise in the Security Industry
and no one professional is going to be an expert in all areas.

Polygraph, Electronic Countermeasures, Personal Protection,
Handwriting Analysis, Uniformed Security Guards, Armed Guards,
Alarms and Security Cameras are some good examples.

Knowing an expert with a particular specialty who you can bring in to
assist on a case allows you to accept different types assignments
that you would otherwise not be able to accept.  

There are many Regional, National and International Associations that
serve the Investigative, Security and Process Service Communities.
 
Most have private memberships for which they charge annual dues.
The requirements to join vary from organization to organization.
